Avvenu: Collaborate with yourself!! In other words access your pc from anywhere else in the world...
Register, pick a username and password, download a very small program which runs in the background and as long as your computer is turned on and online you can access it from any other computer. I've tried it and it works! Excellent for very big files that are difficult to upload to the internet. You can also give someone else access to any chosen folder or folders on your pc for any amount of time that you specify, they don't even have to download the program. http://www.avvenu.com

Esnips
File storage and so much more. So we'll start with the fact that on Esnips you get 1 giga storage space. Folders can be private, shared or public, they can be tagged for search purposes, you can even add notes to your folders.
Now lets move on to the Esnips toolbar!! On the whole I hate extra toolbars a la Google, Yahoo and you name it - (it seems that every web site now has its own toolbar for you to download) However the Esnips toolbar is a great little asset which includes the following buttons:
access your esnips account
save selected text and images to your account
save a copy of webpage to your account
save link
upload photos, videos and files to your account
and my personal favorite..... save a screen capture to your account, you even get to choose the size and shape of the screen capture, wonderful!
Two excellent tools from Google. If you haven't tried them yet I definitely suggest it. Writely is an online word processor and spreadsheets is, well, spreadsheets.... So what's special? You can share editing with others, eventually the finished pages can even be saved as html whereby you can add them to your web sites. I've been trying this out as a cms system and it works beautifully, enabling other contributers to edit certain sections of my website, without giving them admin access to the site itself. Writely is available by invitation only - I still have a couple of invitations left, just write me at susan59@nana.co.il. Spreadsheets is available only if you have gmail, which is invitation only... I don't have any gmail invitations left but if you "google" 'get gmail invitation' you'll probably find forums where people are willing to invite you. http://www.writely.com http://spreadsheets.google.com
Goffice
Another online office suite. Slightly different to writely. You have a choice of templates with nice designs, borders etc. Pages at the moment can be uploaded or created as in word but saved as PDF. The presentation application hasn't been released to the public yet. http://www.goffice.com
Vyew
What is Vyew? (copied from site)
"Vyew is a browser-based conferencing and always-on collaboration platform that provides instant visual communication without the need for client downloads or installations.
Vyew's multimedia workspace enables shared viewing of presentations, files, photos and one's **desktop**. Included are tools for whiteboarding, annotating, text chatting, and phone conferencing. "
So it's free and it works, what more could you want? Recommended resolution 768x1024 otherwise you don't get to see the full screen. If like our school you can't afford expensive teacher desktop broadcasting software, this would be an excellent substitute.
Work on the same page at the same time as your colleagues.
Drag and drop sentences and paragraphs. Its useful and fun!
"JotSpot Live allows you, your colleagues or clients to take notes together on the same web page at the same time. Imagine everyone simultaneously typing and editing the same Microsoft Word document and you'll get the idea. " http://www.jotspotlive.com
